Everything deep fried and on a stick.

That is the Wisconsin State fair.

A group of us went to the state fair this week and we had so much fun. The weather was really hot but we toughed it out and made the best of it.

I always love seeing the cows and piggies but it was sooo hot and I felt sorry for the animals. They stand out in the heat alll dayy lonng ali.
But they really are adorable. No ali, we can not take a cow home.

I'm a natural.

And lets not forget the piglets. Only a few weeks old

I've always wanted a little teacup pig. This adventure made me think twice. They really do stink.

And lets not forget the food. I love the animals and everything but when I go to the state fair I plan on eating as much deep fried food that comes on a stick as i can.
You only live once so why not clog your arteries with disgusting calorie filled crap?

Thats what I say!

Enter the deep fried s'more.

Thats no lie. Its a party in your mouth.

Dalton doesn't have much of a sweet tooth so he went for the 14in corn dog.

Not Pictured: Deep fried macaroni and cheese (eaten by Johrdin), Cheese Curds, Spiral potato chips, deep fried bacon on a stick (gross), strawberry and banana milk, smoothies, cheese popcorn, and about 30 gallons of soda. We know how to have a good time. And cellulite.

Happy Friday.

Dorms with Style.

Yes. It is possible.

We are leaving to go back to school in just under a month.
I get so excited when all of the target 'college collections' come out.

I have a brand new building this year with brand new beds, brand new kitchen, brand new washers and dryers. I can't wait.

So I have been searching the web for cute ideas to spruce up my dorm room.

(For those of you that know me well you know that I have a slight extreme obsession with office supplies and organizational containers)

So designing a dorm room...right up my alley.

I'm not yet quite sure what color scheme I want to go with. But I kind of want an eclectic style look.

I love this bedding. I wanted to do a duvet cover because it can still look cute without being made perfectly.

The rest are just random ideas. My mind is going wild today with decorating ideas.

What do you think? A cute dorm is possible isn't it?

Im linking up here and here.

Admitting weakness

You know that dreaded question in an interview. We have all had it.
"what is your greatest weakness."

Oh.great.

Now don't get me wrong, I do have plenty of weaknesses. But most of them are things that a future employer wouldn't want to hear.

I don't like to work on the weekends.

Or holidays.

You get the point.

So when I was asked that in my most recent interview I first sat there like an idiot. Then I quickly tried to think of something. I didn't want her to think that I thought I was the bomb.com. I decided to say "well, I am not very organized." It was the only thing that came to mind.

A few minutes later she offered me the job and told me we needed to schedule an appointment to do a drug test. I then proceed to pull out my extremely organized weekly planner.

"Your very organized aren't you, Ali?"

Yes. Yes I am.

But as I have finished my first year in college and have continued to work at my current job, I have realized my greatest weakness.

Ready for it?

I am really bad at hearing that I didn't do something right.

I either get really defensive or really sad.

The other day I was told that I wasn't correctly cutting the lemon leaf for the over 100 arrangements that I had already done. It was one of those I'm gonna keep swallowing to avoid the tears running down my face. And when it rains it poors.

I cut the carnations too short. Seriously?

I felt anger and defeat. I know how to cut carnations.
Maybe they were a little too short.

The first step is admitting your weakness right?

Step 1. Check

Feel free to let me know what you think. Do you have the same problem? What is your greatest weakness? How have you overcome it?

I Can't Believe It.

It's already Friday.

How does that happen every week?

The days just seem to get away from me.

I had some training at work this week which made the days feel long but I still can't comprehend that it is already Friday. I won't complain though. Because not only is it friday, its pay day. Double yes.

I don't have too many pictures from this week because working doesn't result in very many good picture opportunities.

If you follow me on instagram you will notice that I just began doing a "Thankful for" picture each day. I saw that another blogger was doing it and I thought it was a cool idea.

I tried out a new dressing recipe found in the Womens Health magazine.
I will share more next week. Delish

If you have ever worked at a flower shop, you wouldn't be surprised how many flowers get thrown away. These roses were about to get put in the trash, but I spared them the trip to the garbage compactor. They can thank me later

My grandma is still healing so when I visit she sits in her chair and I lay on the couch. We relax together. Its pretty nice...

Do you ever lay in bed and your mind just races? I hate that. I have been trying to write some brief thoughts down before bed instead of letting them fester in my brain. This girl needs her beauty sleep.

Just finished this book. I highly recommend it. Especially if you are looking for a light summer read.

And now I just started reading this...

Happy friday.
