On getting along.

Along with a new school comes a new building, a new room and a few new roommates.

Along with new roommates comes a mix of different personalities, a mix of pet peeves, a mix of hobbies, rituals and schedules.

I was blessed last year with a roommate that was amazing. We had similar personalities, agreed about politics, knew each others limits, and knew when we just needed a good laugh.

This year I have a roommate, and two suite mates (we share a bathroom and mini kitchen)

My roommate Kaitie and I have really begun to coexist together. We are learning about each others personalities and we have really begun to hit it off. Not to mention she has been able to tell me where all of my classes are....very helpful.

And everything is fine and dandy until this girl decides to rearrange the kitchen.
I hate clutter on the counter (toaster, fruit, bread, cereal, 7 million spoons, soap...) you get the idea. I had daltons parents bring down a small shelf that would fit in between our trash and recycling bins. I cutely decorated the shelf, removing the clutter and putting it on the shelf in a much more organized fashion. I wrote a cute little note on the chalkboard, stood back, and admired my progress. Damn Im Good.

not. so. fast.

I returned to the room a few hours later. Waiting for me was one pissed off girl(my suite mate) and the clutter back on the counter.

Who moved my stuff.

Uhhh I did. I kept everything out here, I just wanted to minimize the clutter on the counter.

To that I received a dirty glare.

I guess not everyone cares about cute chalkboard messages and a clean counter.

So maybe I should have asked first, maybe I should have made sure that was ok before I reorganized.

We have all heard a million times that we wont always like every that we come across but we have to get along. (Especially living in such a small place.)

I also realize that not everyone is easy to get along with. Some people make getting along very difficult. These are the people that I need to exist with. We don't need to hang out with these people but as long as we are both living in this (let me remind you ) very small place. We need to exist together.

And maybe I shouldn't assume that everyone likes my decorating. Even though they should.

Just kidding.
Im trying.

Im considering putting this on the fridge:

Then again, that might not go over so well.
